Former Governor Martha Layne Collins, Chair of the KWTC Board of Directors was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun Gold and Silver Star by the Japanese Government on December 16th, 2009. The Order of the Rising Sun is a Japanese order, established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji of Japan. The Order was the first national decoration awarded by the Japanese Government, created on April 10, 1875 by decree of the Council of State; it is the second most prestigious Japanese decoration. After the award was presented by Consul General Hiroshi Sato, speeches in her honor were made by Secretary Larry Hayes (Kentucky Dept. of Economic Development) and Governor Steve Beshear; following which a toast was given by Steve St. Angelo (President, Toyota Motor Manufacturing). The event was held at the Governor's Mansion and was attended by colleagues, friends and family.

In Every Language is proud to announce that the company has been certified as a B Corporation.  We are the first company to become certified not only in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, but in the translation industry.  For those of you unfamiliar with B Corps, the designation is given to for-profit companies that focus on community benefit and strive to be socially and environmentally conscious, putting people before profits.  Needless to say, it's an honor we're glad to receive.

For those of you interested in learning more, I've blogged on the topic here.  We also have pictures up on the company Facebook of our signing the certification documents.  Information about our different community service projects is also available on our website.

Thank you very much for your role in this.  Without our customers and friends, we would be unable to help the community as much as we do.
