The Kentucky World Trade Center invites your company to apply for the 2010 Governor's Award for International Trade Excellence. The Kentucky World Trade Center’s GAITE award is the first international trade award given by the Governor of Kentucky. The Kentucky World Trade Center President J. Edwin Webb Appointed Honorary Consul of France

J. Edwin Webb, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Kentucky World Trade Center was nominated and appointed as the Honorary Consul of France for Kentucky effective June 30, 2010.  "To be appointed the honorary consul of France for Kentucky is a great honor and I am both proud and humbled by this opportunity. I look forward to serving Consul General Graham Paul along with the wonderful citizens of France while living in my home state of Kentucky. My sincere appreciation to the Consul General for his vote of confidence along with that of our former Honorary Consul, John Lina. John's dedication was valued and his leadership exemplary". Webb holds an EMBA from Bellarmine University and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Louisville.

International Trade News :

BIS Clarifies Country Scope of Direct Product Rule

The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued a final rule that, effective July 30, clarifies the scope of the “direct product rule” set forth in the Export Administration Regulations. BIS is also making parallel revisions or clarifications to written assurances required under license exception TSR (Technology and Software Restricted), information required on the license application for national security controlled technology, and the instructional steps in the EAR that provide guidance on how to apply the direct product rule........................................more

DOT Reports Small Gain in Monthly Surface Trade with Canada and Mexico

The Department of Transportation reports that U.S. surface transportation trade in goods with NAFTA partners Canada and Mexico edged up 1.5% from April to May. The $66.8 billion total for May represented a 39.5% jump from a year earlier, the largest such gain on record and the third time in the last four months that such a record has been set.....................................more
