The State Department announced July 8 that it has reached an agreement with a U.S. company to resolve violations of the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations committed between Sept. 2003 and Jan. 2004. Under the consent agreement, the U.S. company agreed to pay a civil penalty of $100,000, of which $70,000 will be suspended on the condition that the company applies this amount to remedial compliance measures. The company has also committed to establish enhanced compliance measures and have two independent audits of its compliance program.
