Australia trade mission a success

The Kentucky World Trade Center just completed a successful coal trade mission to Australia. The "down under in Down Under" trip featured visits to several local mines, as well as meetings with government officials.

John Waugh, Vice President of Marketing for PHOENIX Process Equipment Company, participated in the trade mission. "The KWTC Australia coal trade mission was a great blend of meetings with Queensland and New South Wales officials, Sydney-based U.S. Commercial Service coal specialists, and corporate management from major coal producers.  It also included on-site facility visits to mines and prep plants.  I was very pleased that the schedule also allowed time for visits with my local sales reps."

Jim Booth, CEO of Booth Energy, also attended. "The trip to Australia was very productive and educational.  We were able to meet with representatives of several major coal companies and tour their facilities.  I’m  very impressed with Australian coal technologies and operations, as well as with the support that their government has given to the coal industry. I am looking forward to using what I have learned from this trip to improve our operations here in Kentucky."
