Louisville-based Whip Mix Corporation is planning an expansion to build and equip a stand-alone milling center near UPS Worldport for fabricating zirconia ceramic dental restorations that are then distributed to dental lab customers worldwide. The company was approved for KIDA incentives at this morning's Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) meeting in Frankfort. Whip Mix invented the first complete dental inlay casting unit and also supplies a wide array of products and equipment to dental offices, dental labs, government agencies and educational institutions throughout the world.
Currently, Whip Mix employs 148 at its Louisville facility. The expansion would create an additional 15 jobs and a new annual payroll of more than $640,000. The investment in the new project would be $800,000. Our congratulations to GLI member Whip Mix Corporation on today's announcements. We appreciate their commitment to investing in the Greater Louisville region.
