Greek Delegation Builds New Relationships in Kentucky

Connecting Kentucky with the rest of the world, the Kentucky World Trade Center greeted 19 delegates from Katerini, Greece November 12-19. The KWTC arranged matchmaking and informational meetings with 14 businesses around the Commonwealth. This delegation was invited and hosted by Georgetown College and Greece-Kentucky Partnerships, and led by the Chamber of Commerce in Pieria, Greece.

The delegates, mostly CEOs of their Greek companies, represented a wide range of industries, from cheese to solar heaters to animal feed. As a result of the meetings, both the Greek and Kentucky businesses anticipate success in the immediate future and on a long-term scale. The delegation had successful meetings and made contacts with KWTC members Lexmark, Big Ass Fans, Greater Louisville Inc., Alltech, Neogen, Kinetic Technologies, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, and Commerce Lexington, among others.

For most of the delegates, this was their first trip to the United States. During the meetings, they learned about Kentucky, the business climate here, specific industries, and business opportunities in Kentucky. Many expressed that they were very impressed with Kentucky and what the Commonwealth has to offer.  They hope to return soon and emphasized that they would like to expand their newly formed connections by hosting the KWTC and Kentucky businesses in Greece. The KWTC is looking into the possibility of doing a trade mission to Greece.
